We fell in love with this Rocca bowl & tap whilst abroad, and vowed to use it in one of our own projects, at the time this offset eclipse, was not available from any off our UK suppliers so this one made the trip home as hand luggage. Much to the amusment of airline staff.
No one needs to go to this extreme now. In the past it used to be only very expensive design based merchants that stocked unusual sinks , now they are readily available at reasonable costs through big DIY stores, trade or specialist merchants.Today you can obtain any variety of stone porceline round or square sinks giving you endless options. Bathrooms are an exciting area of design to be involved in...
We offset this bowl against Nero granite and the Italian marble pebbles; I was happy with the combination of the materials, the free flow works well, and although strong colours are generally frowned on in bathrooms black & white is a colour combination which is used often and fits well with both contemporary and traditional design ideas.

We wanted to have a design of the moment but didn’t want it to date quickly, so we left the mood of the room to be altered only by changing the wall colour. Because we were using a variety of dark natural materials in this bathroom I wanted the room to have an organic feel to soften it, the marble that came as standard sheets were cut to shape and applied, to give the feeling of tumbling stones encompassing the room.
This area around the shower both serves a purpose and adds interest to the room. We used a column radiator instead of a towel rail.

The bath fitted was a corner bath and although not the most unusual of choices there was a reasons why we used one.this is a family bathroom so there is need for both a bath and a shower that had space.
The room although on average not small, was not enough to fit a decent separate shower cubical without compromising on other elements within the rooms design. We pulled it into the overall design by not using the panel that came with it as standard, but instead using white glass mosaic with a black band at the bottom to mirror the slate skirting the overall effect is good.
In all the room works well the colour palette used is controlled but the mood of the room can be easily changed when you introduce the wall colour.
